Last Friday Tiger Solutions delivered a training session for staff on Notts County Football Club’s Football in the Community Programme. Football in the Community is staffed by coaches who deliver football-orientated educational programmes that promote social inclusion in the Nottingham area, with focus on young people and minority groups such as those with disabilities. The one-day training session with Tiger Solutions covered effective behaviour management strategies for the classroom.
The training was delivered by Tiger Solutions Associate Justine Drury with support from Tiger Education and Training Director Chris Mortimer. Justine (above, standing) is Head of School at the 14-19 arm of South Nottingham College, SNC Education, and works with Tiger Solutions on training projects during College vacations. Justine leads the expanding collaborative provision programme at SNC Education and shared her expertise in behaviour management with delegates during the training session.
The overarching theme of the session was the importance of prevention in behaviour management. The content of the session translated this theme into practical strategies to realise improvements in the quality of delivery. The day culminated in an interactive planning session which equipped the Notts County Football in the Community management team with a clear and actionable strategy for improving behaviour management, at both a classroom and provision-wide level. Participants took the opportunity to put their queries to the Tiger Education and Training team (left). The atmosphere was relaxed and constructive, and feedback from the session has been positive.
In written post-session feedback, one participant commented:
“I really enjoyed it; the session was delivered by well-motivated people who kept my attention all the way through”
Another participant mentioned:
“This is the best course I’ve been on recently; really good delivery”
