Coverage of Chris’s MSc dissertation project has appeared in the local and national press. The project took the form of an economic impact assessment of Worcestershire County Cricket Club and was undertaken by Chris (below left) in the summer of 2009 as part of his MSc in Business Analytics and Consulting.

Chris Mortimer

The project, overseen by Worcestershire County Cricket Club Commercial Director David Leatherdale, generated robust estimates of the economic impact of the club in terms of spectator spend, supplier payments and employee salaries. At the core of the research lay a primary data collection exercise involving spectators at the New Road cricket ground, and economic modelling of direct and indirect impacts. As a result of the project the club can accurately estimate its value as a business to the local and regional economies.

Articles on the project have appeared in Worcester News and the Daily Telegraph.
